Hidden in the Shadows

Xavier was standing on the roof to a lab. He had sent his cat in to get a look at the place. He came through the roof in front of the boy. "It's safe. I shorted out the deference system." A moment later, it disappeared again. "Oh great," Xavier said, shaking his head back and forth, laughing a little. In an instant, he was consumed by shadows.

Appearing in a room, Xavier looked around, he mumbled to himself. "This place has bad security...." and walked over to a door. "Gamma!" he called. The cat showed up-out of nowhere-on his shoulder. "Open this door, will you?" The cat waved its tail, leaving a trail of black mist as it moved and said, "Very well, sir." Jumping off the boys shoulders, it surrounded the lock. A faint red glow appeared under the black and the lock cracked. The door slid open. "Heh, this was too easy..."

"Of course it has no security, who would think that someone would pull a laboratory heist? Finally, a criminal with an interest in something besides wealth." A blur of green dropped from the ceiling, and if you didn't know any better, you might think he had been waiting there all night. He had of course been following the dark shadowy character for a while, under a hunch he was up to no good.
The green robed ninja tightened his head coverings, and stood in a ready stance. "If it isn't money, what exactly are you looking for?"

[Athena 'Shift' Logan]

"He's probably looking for something to make that ugly mug of his look better.", Shift called, from her position in the back of the room - namely, crouching on the edge of a windowsill after having just turned human again from bird. A mirthless smile sat on the furry Titan's face as she studied Xavier with light green-brown eyes. "But I doubt he'd find something that strong anywhere, much less here."

One hand steadying herself, the green-furred leader hopped off of her impromptu perch and stepped forward, stopping while she was still a few paces behind Green, her peircings glinting slightly in the dull light that filtered through the open window.

Serenity came around the corner a bottle of half gone mountain dew in her hand, "Well it's about time too." she said with a sigh, "It took you guys forever to show up." she said with a roll of her eyes. She had been waiting for all of them to appear and was getting irritated with how few clocks people left in their buildings. It made it harder to guess when anyone would show up.

Sorina rolled her black eyes and landed on the green eyed psychic's arm, "What no hello how are you how are you doing?" she asked sarcastically.

"Shut up."[/size]

"Very funny, green-girl," Xavier said, laughing a little. "Gamma, you could have told me," he said. The cat sprang out of his shadow and landed on his shoulders. "Yes....but where's the fun in that?" it asked, showing a toothy smile. "True," the boy answered. He tossed the bottle into the air where Gamma passed through it. The bottle had disappeared inside the ghostly cat. After landing noiselessly on the ground, the cat turned its red eyes to Serenity and Sorina. "Well, well, well. Looks like i'm going to have some fun getting rid of that rat with wings!" he said with an almost joking tone. Streams of black swirled in front of the creature, creating a sword. The cat took it in it's mouth and sank into the ground. Moments later it appeared on Serenity's shoulder. "Boo." He slashed the sword at the bird. Xavier was watching. "Well, what are you waiting for?" he asked, taking a ready stance. "I'm ready."

Irazehl felt a little stupid for having not been breifed on this mission, yet somehow showing up. The others had been waiting for Xavier, but he had followed him there.
"Uh... is he going to try fighting all three of us?" Irazehl, though none could see it, had an incredulous look on his face. In the back of his mind he wondered why this guys cat got a sword and he didn't. "I admire your bravery, but dissaprove of your idiocy."
He didn't take out any sort of weapon, but got inside of Xaviers range with a nuetral stance. If this guy wanted a fight, he would let him throw the first swings.

Yes, I am. And don't think i'll hold back, though I might, just a little, for that cute one with the bird," he said, nodding his head at Serenity with a grin. "Anyway..." His eyes turned black and his hands began to glow. He jumped back into the shadows and disapeared, reappearing behind Shift, who he kicked into Irazehl. Then he vanished again. "Like I said, i'm ready."

Though tensed for an outright attack, Athena wasn't ready for a sneak-attack, so she couldn't stop herself from being thrown into Irazehl, the wind kicked out of the shape shifter for a few long moments. He wasn't exactly a soft thing to land against, either - she knew his shoulder had probably bruised her cheekbone, although that was only a thing acknowledged in the back of the crime fighters' mind.

"I - hate - teleporters.", gasped Shift, rubbing at her ribs as she tried to get off of her blonde, male teammate. Whoever their current foe was, he hadn't been gentle with his attack, that was for sure, as her ribs and ego could attest.

Irazehl didn't move out of Shifts way after the sneak attack, He thought his back would be less stubborn than the linoleum floor. "I'm not sure hes a teleporter..." he wasn't sure but it had appeared that the intruder had melted into the shadows.
Irazehl wasn't very intimidated, he had several strategies for dealing with 'teleporters'. He just hoped that the others didn't get hurt. It would probably be better if he could get this guy to attack him instead.
"Alright tough guy, come and get some." stood in a patch of light, if Xavier's strategy changed he would be able to tell that this guy was a shadow master or a teleporter.

"Oh, please. You'll have to do better then that," Xavier said, his voice seemingly comming from everywhere. Gamma was still slashing at the bird. Suddenly, Xavier apeared in front of the Irazehl and kicked out his leg close to the ground to try and knock him to the ground.
